The Collaboration

This year, we welcomed the National Women’s Studies Association as the central host, joining our returning co-sponsors, the Center for the Study of Women and Society at the Graduate Center CUNY, and the journals, Feminist Anthropology and Women Studies Quarterly. In recognition and celebration of the global initiative, 16 Days Campaign, the collaboration invited everyone who engaged with feminist activism throughout the 2021 year to submit their stories once again and to continue to build a community around the purpose of activism and change.

We welcomed stories on any activism-related subject in a multitude of mediums and received many amazing submissions that we are so excited to share with everyone. In celebration of the tremendous amount of activism in 2021 and the activists who submitted to our call, the collaboration is sponsoring a final webinar to hear from the activists themselves, and to allow for an audience question and answer session.

The collaboration between the NWSA, the Center for the Study of Women and Society at the Graduate Center, CUNY, Feminist Anthropology, and Women’s Studies Quarterly invites everyone to join us on December 10th, 2021 at 6PM EST. We hope this collaboration will help to celebrate the incredible and ongoing work of activists in New York and around the country and the world, and that we can lift up those who have worked hard to lift up this year.

Established in 1977, the National Women’s Studies Association has as one of its primary objectives promoting and supporting the production and dissemination of knowledge about women and gender through teaching, learning, research and service in academic and other settings.

The Women’s and Gender Studies program at the Graduate Center, City University of New York, is a vibrant program. Our students take courses that offer a critical understanding of how gender and sexuality matter.
